- - Once you accept a friend request from Parents Club of South Oakland, you will get event invites each week for that week’s activities.
  - This is an easy way to communicate and see who is going, post messages in case you’re running late or have questions, or if there are last minute changes.

Our secretary puts together our monthly newsletter with articles of interest to our group.
All members are welcome to submit ideas and articles for the newsletter. We welcome recipes, photos, and parenting tips.
The newsletter is sent out via Facebook around the beginning of each month.
Each member and their spouse are welcome to put a business card sized advertisement in our monthly newsletter. The business should be something of interest to our members. If you have other friends or family members who are interested in advertising, they may be able to get a free ad if they donate a product or service to the group.

Every month we get together to make important club decisions regarding policy and upcoming events, and sometimes feature a guest speaker.
It also gives us a chance to meet and socialize.

Hosts invite members to their home, and have the option of requesting an age limit (e.g. infants up to one year), or placing a space limit on the event.
Normally the host serves a light snack and something to drink. The parents get to relax while the kids get to play with different toys!
We encourage all members to host a playdate a few times throughout the year. It can be hosted outside of the home too, like at a park.

When a member has a new baby, a hospital stay, health complications, surgery, or bereavement other members volunteer to make or provide a meal and deliver it.
Sunshine Meals help make a challenging time a little easier.

We love to celebrate and each year we plan several parties.
Past parties have included a Halloween party, a Valentine's Day party, an Easter egg hunt, and a family end of the year party.
